Souvenir – Lyrics

David a new song called Souvenir in Davis & Elkins College. It is said to be one of the 50 or so songs that were produced for his debut album. Naturally, the folks at DCO have already worked on decyphering the lyrics. Thanks to FolkFan, krittr517, SharonC, StarrySkies, nickkaleeaiden, lovethemusic, annie702, PepsiPls, addicted1220, NY_Cookfan, James_Padfoot, KissOnTheNeck08, and leastlikely for these, and to Annie702 for starting the thread at the homestead.

Souvenir

Hope you had a good time while you were here
Such a beautiful view for a beautiful girl, this time of year
Now here we are looking back, through wasted photographs
Blank pages filling up our past
No, it’s not funny, but all that I can do is laugh

You can keep my heart, the one you took when you walked away
You can keep my heart, it’s got no use here
Call it a souvenir, call it a souvenir

Quite a trip that we never should have taken
I just can’t believe how you’ve broken me since you ran away
Now all you do is promise everything, tell me you’ll stay
So many signs; I guess I missed it, I missed it

You can keep my heart, the one you took when you walked away
You can keep my heart its got no use here
Call it a souvenir, call it a souvenir

So many pages that I gotta fill up
So many lessons to learn about love
So many days, so many ways, so many suns, so many rains
All you got was my broken heart

Hope you had a good time while you were here

You can keep my heart, the one you took when you walked away
You can keep my heart, it’s got no use here
Call it a souvenir, call it a souvenir

You can keep my heart
You can keep my heart
Call it a souvenir

  1. Does anyone know who wrote it?

    • Word has it David wrote it with Zac Maloy. There’s an ASCAP entry for a song entitled “Souvinir” (don’t ask me why heh). Check it out yourself, enter the title here.
